There is news that the agent Hakan Calhanoglu, Gordon Stipic, thrust the player to the Juventus and Inter Milan. AC Milan was also said to be inflamed.
Hakan Calhanoglu has yet to sign a contract with AC Milan. The former Bayer Leverkusen player’s contract with Milan will expire in June 2021.
So far no agreement has been reached in negotiating a new contract. Salary issues were said to be an obstacle in Calhanoglu’s new contract talks in Milan. Calhanoglu’s agent is reportedly asking for a salary increase for his client to be around 5-6 million euros from the current pay of 2.5 million euros per year.
According to the Tuttosport report, Gordon Stipic has upset Milan. He instead offered Calhanoglu to Juventus and Inter Milan. Juventus even prepared Federico Bernardeschi in exchange for Calhanoglu.
The Tuttosport report emerged two days after the newspaper Il Corriere dello Sport said that Stipic had offered Calhanoglu to several European clubs.
Calhanoglu himself is still one of Milan’s mainstays in midfield. The former Bayer Leverkusen player has made 11 appearances in all competitions, contributing four goals and four assists for Milan this season.
Calhanoglu is not only in demand by Juventus and Inter. From Spain, Atletico Madrid are also reportedly targeting the German-born player.
Given that Hakan Calhanoglu’s contract expires in the summer of next year, Milan need to sell the player in the January market if they don’t want to lose for free. However, Milan are still desperately looking to extend Calhanoglu’s contract.
