“Agent Pini Zahavi eyes mega transfer: Neymar to Chelsea amid PSG turmoil”

WHAT HAPPENED? Pini Zahavi works according to information from GOAL and SPOX currently in the process of threading a transfer from star striker Neymar (PSG) to Chelsea. The agent, who was also instrumental in Neymar’s world-record transfer to Paris in 2017, is tempting Chelsea owner Todd Boehly to sign the Brazilian next season.

WHAT IS THE BACKGROUND? There were talks about this last summer, but at the time Neymar still refused to say goodbye to the French champions. This has changed after the events of the last few weeks. PSG ultras had insulted their club’s stars and even rioted in front of Neymar’s villa.

This has led to a rethink in the 31-year-old. He is now willing to leave the club this summer despite a lucrative contract that runs until 2025.

PSG officials around sporting advisor Luis Campos would like to have Neymar off the payroll to have more leeway to build a new team in the summer.

Star consultant Zahavi has worked on several spectacular transfers in the past. In Germany, the 79-year-old gained notoriety at the latest when he housed Bayern stars David Alaba (Real Madrid) and Robert Lewandowski (FC Barcelona) in Spain. Bavaria’s honorary president called him a “greedy piranha” when Alaba left.

WHAT’S NEXT? A transfer of Neymar this summer would be a blockbuster deal, a quick agreement is not likely. Chelsea are looking for a high-quality man to play in the center of attack, Neymar doesn’t really fit that profile. However, the designated new team manager Mauricio Pochettino still knows Neymar very well from their time together in Paris.

The Selecao star has also been traded as a signing at Premier League rivals Manchester United and Newcastle United in recent weeks.
