Agent Coulson Has a Successor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Shang-Chi is the main character of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. But the film also introduces a lot of new key players to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And not only that. Agent Coulson also gets a kind of successor.

Note: This article contains SPOILERS.

One of the best ways Shang-Chi tied to the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the use of Wong. He can be seen twice in the film, with great results. Because he connects the film to the rest of the universe. In addition, Wong is now being portrayed as a new Agent Coulson for Phase Four of the MCU.

The New Agent Coulson
In Phase One of the MCU, the connecting element between the different corners of the film universe that we got to know was the organization SHIELD.

It helped protect the world from various threats. The main figure in all of this is without a doubt Phil Coulson, the imperturbable man who acted as Nick Fury’s devoted agent and ally.

In a way, Wong has now taken his place. We came to know him as the librarian of the mystical city of Kamar-Taj, where he served as advisor and guide to Stephen Strange alongside the Ancient One and Baron Mordo. After he became Sorceror Supreme, Wong remained his ally and advisor.

In addition, Wong saved Iron Man’s life and gathered an army of mages to fight Thanos.

And now Wong seems to be playing a similar role in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Not only does he fight the Abomination in Xialing’s fight club, he also has some friendly advice for Shang-Chi and Katy, and turns out to be assisting Carol Danvers and Bruce Banner. This makes Wong the new connective tissue.
