Age of Wonders 4 Review: Lack of Content and Gameplay Issues

Age of Wonders 4 is really not a good game, it even lacks Tomes of Desert, for example. Desert adaptation as a perk but nothing to do with it? Very strange.. Good elements of AoW 1 2 3 and even planetfall plus lore is not there, I didn’t know because I don’t know it, but also water tomes, for example, are missed, which is correct because there are water-like races, for example the toads .
Game also crashes continuously (I’m not the only one), gameplay is the same every match, get the most “buffs” and you win. The rock paper scissor gameplay is not there.
Where you expect complexity never comes true.

AI is also very mediocre, I play on max difficulty and all you really need is a few summons and the AI ​​is stupid enough to focus on that so the player can flank. Always works. World map AI is also mediocre and does little to nothing, although the last AI patch I played helps a little, but not enough. This is helped by fairly large bonuses to provide a little bit of resistance. Now 4x AI is never really smart, but this is nothing.

It just lacks a lot in terms of gameplay and technical aspects. It does have potential, but then you get that bad taste in your mouth that it needs 6 more DLC and a long patch cycle and that I am a paid tester.
