Age of Wonders 4 is currently rated very positive by user reviews posted on Steam. That is as much as 83% for a game that clearly had only minor problems at launch, immediately resolved by the developers.
If you remember, at the time of release Age of Wonders 4 received a lot of negative reviews, which were about half of the total, due to some problems with the launch of the game; at that time, the game had a rating of 47% positive reviews. However, Triumph Studios managed to solve them in record time, changing the minds of the game.
In comparison, the heavily criticized The Last of Us Part I has so far failed to garner an overall positive rating despite the large number of patches Naughty Dog has released. The same goes for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which, despite patches, is still having major issues on PC.
It’s also fair to say about Age of Wonders 4 that it was the best-selling game on Steam for a few days. Not counting hardware and free-to-play, it takes first place in the world ranking, just above Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Not bad for a fantasy 4X strategy mixed with RPG.
