“Age of Empires” is coming to consoles and mobile devices

(PressFire.no): In connection with the 25th anniversary of “Age of Empires”, Microsoft has revealed that it will release two of the games in the series for the Xbox Series S and X.

These two games are «Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition» and «Age of Empires IV» which is the last of the series.

The developers say they have worked a lot on how this should work with a controller, where they have, among other things, created a completely new training section. A new artificial intelligence feature has also been implemented to help with resource management.

But if you prefer a mouse and keyboard, the console versions will support that too.

The games will launch on January 31st and are also part of Xbox Game Pass for those who subscribe there. The two games will also arrive at the Xbox Cloud Gaming streaming service at the same time.

At the same time, Microsoft also announces that it will release a separate “Age of Empires” for mobile phones.

It is unknown whether this is a brand new game or simply the worldwide launch of “Age of Empires: Return to Empire” (a game launched in China earlier this year), but the developer behind this game has tightened a broader collaboration with Microsoft not long ago.
