John Hollis from Virginia (USA) is one of the rare COVID-19 patients who has so-called super antibodies that effectively neutralize the virus. The 54-year-old is practically immune to Corona. In addition, its super antibodies even offer immunity to the new virus variants, reports BBC News.
John Hollis’ super antibodies were discovered by chance: In spring 2020, his roommate was infected with the corona virus and became seriously ill. Hollis expected the worst, expected to be just as seriously ill. But the communications manager only got a slight cold.

This was done as part of a clinical study at George Mason University under the direction of pathologist Dr. Lance discovers Liotta, who Hollis was attending without even knowing he was infected.
The researchers found that Hollis’s blood is enriched with antibodies that are so effective that they can neutralize the virus even if diluted 10,000 times. “We discovered a gold mine with John to investigate various methods of attacking the virus,” scientist Liotta told BBC News.
Liotta and his team are now trying to further investigate Hollis’ antibodies in order to use them for research. For this, Hollis gives blood samples every two weeks.
