Against PDIP & Anies in Jakarta, KIM Plus opens opportunity to promote 2 Gubernatorial candidates

Indonesian Progressive Alliance (KIM) Plus said he was ready to fight with Anies Baswedan and PDIP forward Jakarta 2024 gubernatorial election.

The Gerindra Party’s Daily Chairman, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, said that three pairs of candidates may compete later. According to him, the conditions for nominating cagub-cawagub candidates are not difficult at the moment.

KIM Plus is made up of 12 political parties that support the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming government. The parties in KIM Plus are open to a split so they can nominate new candidates apart from Ridwan Kamil-Suswono.

“If there are three candidates, the requirements are not too difficult. So, we are ready, there are no problems,” said Dasco at the Jakarta Parliament Center, Friday (23/8).

Dasco said that the 12 parties supporting Ridwan Kamil and Suswono were firm. There has been no change even though the plan to ratify the Pilkada Bill was shelved and after the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK).

“God willing, firm, God willing, firm, God willing, firm,” he said.

Before that, the opportunity for Anies Baswedan to run for the DKI Jakarta Gubernatorial Election 2024 was open thanks to the decision of the Constitutional Court number 60/PUU-XXII/2024. This decision also revives the hope of PDIP to be involved in naming the failed governor and deputy governor.

This decision removed the threshold for the nomination of regional leaders of 20 percent of DPRD seats or 25 percent of valid votes in the previous election.

The decision of the Constitutional Court determines the nomination threshold based on the votes received in the previous election. The threshold goes from 6.5 percent to 10 percent, depending on the population in each area.

PDIP has not yet announced its candidates for governor and deputy governor in DKI Jakarta. However, PDIP General Secretary Hasto Kristiyanto admitted that Anies was on the radar.

“Ada [komunikasi] “Mr. Baskara has even met with Mr. Anies Baswedan,” Hasto said at the PDIP DPP Office, Jakarta, on Thursday (22/8).

KIM Plus officially announces Ridwan Kamil-Suswono as a candidate for governor and deputy governor of Jakarta in the 2024 regional elections at the same time consisting of 12 parties.

These parties include Gerindra, PKS, Golkar, PAN, Democrat, PKB, NasDem, PSI, PPP, Perindo, Gelora Party and Garuda Party. Ten of them have seats in the Jakarta DPRD 2024-2029.

With new conditions after the decision of the Constitutional Court, the KIM Plus party is open to split so that they can nominate other candidates for governor and deputy governor.

Details of the votes received by the KIM parties include Gerindra 14 seats (13.21%), PKS 18 seats (16.98%). Then PKB, Golkar, NasDem, and PAN have 10 seats (9.43%)

In addition, the Democrats have 9 seats (8.49%), PSI 8 seats (7.55%), Perindo 1 seat (0.94%), and PPP 1 seat (0.94%). Meanwhile PDIP has 15 seats (14.15%).
