Jakarta –
Anthony Sinisuka Ginting hope to beat Lee Ziijia in the quarterfinals Indonesia Masters 2022. This could be a proving match for him.
Ginting is known to have qualified for the last eight of the BWF Super 500 tournament, after defeating Thailand’s Sitthikom Thammsin, Thursday (9/6/2022) at Istora Senayan, 21-13, 21-14 in 44 minutes.
“Thank God he was able to finish the match well and without any injuries. From the beginning of the match to the end, try to take more initiative to attack from there, the pattern of his game couldn’t improve. There were also a few points missed, one off guard, two points but I pushed back again him, maybe the key is there,” said Ginting about the course of the match.
In the next round, Ginting will meet Malaysian representative Lee Zii Jia. He beat Mark Caljouw with a score of 21-17, 21-14.
Regarding his opponent, the world number 6 player didn’t want to bother him too much. Instead, he focused on improving himself, moreover his playing pattern so far has returned to normal.
“I don’t think about it (opponents). I focus on thinking about my own performance,” he continued.
“As we know my performances have not been good lately and the more I come here the better, so the focus is just to prepare.”
“After this, I finished my recovery and discussed with the coach the strategy and evaluation of the game. So it’s more about preparing myself as much as possible and hopefully I can play well.”
“If it’s a matter of proof, if you want to win, especially from yourself, you have to be more prepared first,” Ginting finished.
