Responding to the needs of travelers, the MÁV-VOLÁN group “extends” the Balaton season again this year: even before the time of Pentecost, we introduce the name to the it’s called our pre-season schedule, which allows many more people to get to the lake at more times and more comfortably than in the off season.
As part of the preseason schedule as of May 13, ie a month before the official school holidays, we will provide more frequent access to the lake shore and increase the capacity of bicycle transport. The pre-season services of the railway company are also supported by the fact that, since the summer of 2022, Volánbusz has been providing regional and long-distance connections in the counties of Zala and Veszprem with a regular schedule, and in the last two years dozens. new buses were put into service on Balaton and the surrounding areas.
Every year, we prepare for traffic before and after season and summer on the Balaton with more trains, therefore more frequent transport, and additional services – this year will be no different. The pre-season record added a lot to the fact that the railway company not only reached, but exceeded the record of the period before the pandemic: both the year before and last year , the complete in season about 3 million people used our Balaton flights alone!
This year From May 13 to June 21, we are waiting for travelers again with a pre-season schedule: the largest settlements on the coast will be accessible with additional flights in addition to the usual trains, average per hour . Compared to the off-season schedule – known as winter -, the bicycle transport options are expanded, there are more IC cars and motor trains in service, so there are more seats available for our passengers in compared to early spring.
At the Balaton stations, we also pay a lot of attention to maintaining orderly conditions and general cleanliness, planting flowers, and taking care of them. We have planted thousands of ornamental plants in the past.
The improvements we have made in recent years allow as many people traveling to the Hungarian coast to travel by train and bus that are competitive and environmentally friendly.
