Again, there are players who win after leaving Tottenham

Gdansk

There are more players who are successful after leaving Tottenham Hotspur. If previously it was difficult to achieve, they can now become champions.

It has been a long time since Tottenham lifted the trophy. After last winning the League Cup in 2008, The Lilywhites were unable to lift the trophy anymore.

That is what made some of the players leave. And usually, those who leave Tottenham can embrace success at their new club.

The most recent are Etienne Capoue and Juan Foyth. Both left Tottenham and are now successful at Villarreal.

Capoue, who played for Tottenham from 2013-2015, struggled in London. He only played 36 times and scored 2 goals, before moving to Watford, and last year to Villarreal. Meanwhile, Foyth was loaned Tottenham to Villarreal this season.

On Thursday (27/5/2021) in the morning WIB, Capoue and Foyth just helped Villarreal win the Europa League. The Yellow Submarine lifted the trophy after defeating Manchester United in the final.

Capoue and Foyth appeared to start the Europa League final. Both played well, when Villarreal was able to hold MU 1-1 to a penalty shootout, and won 11-10 in the high-fives round.

Capoue played for 120 minutes, before being replaced by Dani Raba. Meanwhile, Foyth played 88 minutes, when Mario Gaspar had to be replaced. Capoue even became the man of the match for the match.

The success of Capoue and Foyth added to the length of the players who won trophies when they left Tottenham. Previously, many players had won when they left the North London club.

Call it Christian Eriksen, who won the Serie A title this season, then Kyle Walker who is a mainstay of Manchester City, to Kieran Trippier, who helped Atletico Madrid win the Spanish League this season.

Even Mauricio Pochettino, his former manager, was able to immediately win the trophy when he moved to Paris Saint-Germain earlier this year.

That thing might make Harry Kane push away from Tottenham Hotspur this season. The England striker admitted that he really wanted to win a trophy, so he wanted to move to a more competitive club.
