There are still more than a thousand people infected with the corona virus in Belgian hospitals. This can be seen from the data of the Sciensano health institute on Tuesday.
From November 29 to December 5, an average of 76.6 people were hospitalized each day due to Covid-19 Hospital recorded, a weekly increase of 22%. There are currently 1,120 corona-infected people in hospitals (+28%), including 60 in intensive care (+33%).
The daily average was calculated between 26 November and 2 December 1,152 infections recorded, a 23% increase on a weekly basis. Around 7,394 daily tests were also carried out during that period (+12 percent), of which around 16.6 percent were positive.
Daily to die meanwhile, an average of 2.9 people are still suffering from the consequences of an infection. This is a decrease of 23%. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 33,086 people in our country have succumbed to the consequences of a corona infection.
The reproduction number, which indicates the extent to which the epidemic is spreading, is currently 1.12. A number greater than 1 means the pandemic is gaining momentum.
