According to dr. Feni Fitriani, Sp.P(K), if you are really serious about quitting smoking, then the solution is to stop ingesting similar substances into the body, in whatever form it is.
“If you want to stop smoking, it’s not diverted to all kinds of forms, but you stop putting things into your body,” said dr. Feni in a discussion event to commemorate World No Tobacco Day 2021, Saturday (5/6/2021).
He added that forms that must be stopped include e-cigarettes or vapes, shisha, cigars, and or in the form of nicotine gum.

Plus quitting smoking is done not by reducing the frequency of smoking, but must really stop completely.
“So it’s not reducing the number of cigarettes, but actually stopping altogether at once, even though it’s difficult,” explained dr. Feni.
This is in line with what was conveyed by the Chairman of the Indonesian Lung Doctors Association (PDPI) Dr. Agus Dwi Susanto admits that there are several international studies that state that e-cigarettes can help stop smoking.
But that is not the result of the majority of research published and recognized by lung doctors abroad. Even the International Association of Lung Doctors including the Association of Lung Doctors of the United States still states that e-cigarettes are harmful to health.
“The results of the latest review of the results of international publications that summarize the positive and negative in general, electronic cigarettes are not good enough to help quit smoking,” said Dr. Agus.
