Wolgast. In Wolgast in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, hundreds of people gathered again on Wednesday evening for a demonstration against the current corona policy and the associated measures. According to police estimates, around 1200 people took part in the registered protest under the motto “Disproportionate Corona Measures”, the “Ostsee-Zeitung” even reported 1700 participants. Along the federal highway 111 and in the urban area, there were occasional traffic restrictions and road closures in the evening hours. The police were on site with around 120 emergency services.
Several demonstrators did not adhere to the requirement to wear a mouth and nose covering at the beginning and during the gathering, the police said. The officials then contacted the meeting management and additionally urged the demonstrators to comply with the mask requirement via loudspeaker.
According to the police, up to 650 critics and opponents of state corona measures had already gathered in the city in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district last Wednesday.
