If the summer temperatures continue, the weather in North Rhine-Westphalia will be changeable in the coming days. The German Weather Service (DWD) extended its warning of extreme heat in the western part of the country until Wednesday evening. This means that the so-called felt temperature there can still be over 38 degrees during the day. The DWD assumes a very high health risk. Storms are also possible on Wednesday from noon. There can be heavy rain, hail and squalls again.

Thursday starts brightly at first. During the day, clouds come in, and showers and strong thunderstorms can occur. Hail is also possible in isolated cases. According to the forecast, the maximum values ​​are between 32 and 35 degrees.

There is still a risk of thunderstorms on Friday. According to the DWD, there is heavy rain in some areas, which can turn into thunderstorms. The temperatures do not climb above 25 degrees in the Hocheifel and 31 degrees in the eastern Münsterland.

Even at the weekend, people in North Rhine-Westphalia can expect uncomfortable weather. According to the forecast, heavy rain and storms can occur on Saturday. The maximum values ​​are between 26 and 28 degrees.
