Also tonight it is restless in several places. An emergency order has been issued in Zwolle around the football stadium of PEC Zwolle. Mayor Peter Snijders took the measure after supporters had called on social media to gather there. The emergency order is in effect until 5 a.m. tonight.
PEC played a home game against RKC Waalwijk tonight. The municipality and police feared that an influx of supporters would endanger public safety and that heavy fireworks would be set off. Supporters of PEC Zwolle also caused unrest earlier this year, the mayor said in the emergency order.
The measure means that the police may ask people for identification earlier. Football supporters who enter the area around the stadium must immediately leave the area on the instructions of the police. They should also not wear clothing that makes identification difficult, such as a balaclava.
