The 1998 world champion believes that Cristiano Ronaldo should consider retirement before declining too much.
Frank Leboeuf has a sharp tongue at the moment. After addressing a strong tackle to Kurt Zoumawith a message in French and in English which generated many diversions, the 1998 world champion expressed a clear opinion on Cristiano Ronaldo.
For the former Chelsea defender, CR7 should thus wonder about his future in football. “There comes a time when you have to ask yourself the following question: ‘what do I want to do with my life and my career?’ And it may be time for Cristiano Ronaldo, who is coming to the end of his career, to ask himself and perhaps his family. It would be a way for him to know what he should do with the rest of his career, and if it still has a future. thus pleaded Leboeuf with ESPN, a channel for which he is a consultant.
Leboeuf does not want to have pity for CR7
Leboeuf is not, however, a « hater » of Cristiano Ronaldo. It’s even quite the opposite, and the Frenchman would simply like the fivefold Ballon d’Or to avoid having one or more seasons. » I don’t want to look at Ronaldo and feel sorry for him, because he was at the top for so many years. I don’t want him to become an average player. He’s been exceptional for so long. » argues Leboeuf.
The Blue alum summed up his thoughts like this: “ I would prefer that he stop his career at the top rather than hang on for another two or three years no longer being who he was. »
