Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Thailand national team coach, Alexandre Polking, also commented on the rice box in the organization AFF Cup 2020 in Singapore.
Boxed rice became one of the topics of discussion at the AFF Cup 2020. Again, complaints about boxed rice were thrown by Vietnamese coach Park Hang Seo.
After the second leg of the AFF Cup final, Polking brought up the rice box again.
“Yes, we eat a lot of boxed rice and drink a lot of water,” said the Thai coach when asked questions from reporters at a press conference session.
The question from the reporter was actually not related to the boxed rice, but suddenly Polking mentioned the players’ food consumption during the AFF Cup event.
At the beginning of the AFF Cup, the War Elephant team complained about the food they received. Thailand’s national team manager, Madam Pang, said the food does not vary in one box of rice.
The Indonesian national team coach, Shin Tae Yong, also criticized the food consumption.
The South Korean coach assessed that the nutritional content of boxed rice could not meet the needs of soccer athletes who have to compete and recover quickly.
The assistant coach of the Indonesian national team, Dzenan Radoncic, also had time to upload the rice box on his Instagram account.
The organizers gave food rations in the form of boxed rice at the hotel to avoid crowds when the 2020 AFF Cup took place in a bubble system to prevent the transmission of Covid-19.
The 2020 AFF Cup is over. Thailand emerged as champions and confirmed success for the sixth time bringing home the trophy symbol of the supremacy of football in Southeast Asia. Meanwhile, Indonesia, which lost in the final, collected six runner-up titles.
