Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, asking them to respond to Azerbaijan’s “aggression”, Yerevan announced Tuesday.

In separate talks, Pashinyan said he hoped for an “adequate response from the international community” as clashes continued on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, according to a statement by the Armenian government.

For his part, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has expressed concern over the clashes, urging the two countries to stop them immediately.

Since the end of the second war between Armenia and Azerbaijan over the disputed Karabakh enclave in the fall of 2020, the two countries have repeatedly been on the border with border clashes.

Last week, Armenia accused Azerbaijan of killing one of its soldiers in a firefight on the border between the two countries.

These acts of violence threaten to reignite the conflict in the Karabakh region, despite the presence of Russian forces tasked with overseeing the ceasefire between Armenia and Azerbaijan since the end of the second war between them.
