The evangelical US pastor Lance Wallnau has accused presidential candidate Kamala Harris of practicing “witchcraft” during a TV debate. As the Internet portal “Newsweek” reported on Thursday, Wallnau claimed in a series of posts on the “X” platform (formerly Twitter) that Harris had used supernatural manipulation to gain the upper hand in the TV debate with former President Donald Trump. “When I say ‘witchcraft’, I mean what happened tonight,” the pastor wrote after the debate on Tuesday evening (local time). “Occult exercise of power enables deception, manipulation and control,” he added.
In his contributions, the pro-Trump pastor criticized, among other things, Harris’ debate strategy and the behavior of the moderators of the television station ABC News, on whose channel the TV debate took place. The moderators’ review of Trump’s statements was not a mere political tactic, but part of a “deep and sinister attempt to deceive the public and control the outcome of the debate,” Wallnau concluded. The pastor is one of the leading figures in the evangelical pro-Trump movement, which has long portrayed the former president as a leader chosen by God. Trump’s mission is to save the USA from what he describes as “spiritual and political decline.”
In the 2020 and 2016 elections, white evangelical voters voted overwhelmingly for Trump. This year, Americans will be re-elected to the presidency on November 5. Democrat and current Vice President Kamala Harris is running against Republican Donald Trump. Catholic dignitaries such as the Archbishop of Chicago, Cardinal Blase Cupich, and the Cardinal of Newark, Joseph Tobin, have already spoken out in advance. (mtr)
