He has to go! After Trump’s election, Mörgeli shoots against Biden’s “nuisance” in Bern
After the Trump election, the fight against Joe Biden and his administration is also moving to the federal capital. Former National Councilor and “Weltwoche” columnist Christoph Mörgeli wants to get rid of the US ambassador to Switzerland as quickly as possible.
“Switzerland can and must do more”: US Ambassador Scott Miller, left, with partner Tim Gill at the opening of the Zurich Film Festival.
The day after the election of former US President Donald Trump back to the White House, it is clear that there will also be personnel changes in Bern. And by January at the latest.
One person who can’t do this fast enough is Christoph Mörgeli. The “Weltwoche” columnist writes on
The best thing about this morning for us Swiss is that a certain American ambassador in Bern has to pack his bags and hopefully leave the “hole in the donut” forever and ever.

The former Zurich SVP National Councilor also hopes that Scott Miller – he describes the US ambassador to Switzerland as “the hole in the donut” – will “hopefully leave forever and ever”.
Scott Miller has been a thorn in the side of the right-wing in this country since he took office. The current US ambassador frightened the sedate city of Bern with fireworks and sometimes scared the Swiss financial center with undiplomatic demands.
The fireworks that Scott Miller and his partner, billionaire Tim Gill, exploded two years ago are also literally remembered. And literally so. The day after the US National Day 2022 celebration, the local station “Telebärn” reported on it. The police director had to explain himself, and dog owners complained about the ruckus that the fireworks caused over the city.
But Miller and Gill are also provocative in terms of content in this country. Especially conservative circles. Because the two were already well-known LGBT activists in the USA. Miller said to the “Schweizer Illustrierte”, which reported on the party: “I am very pleased that same-sex marriage is being introduced in Switzerland today, on the day of our celebration.” (sat)
