After several days of bad weather and a strong storm in the early hours of Friday, the sun finally came out yesterday, but problems with urban infrastructure remained in some neighborhoods.

The western and southern areas of the City received the greatest blow, with rainfall records that bordered 130 millimeters. During yesterday afternoon, in the Centinela neighborhood, they asked for help to be able to resume their usual movements through the streets. “This is like a pigsty. Impossible to walk or move in a vehicle,” Marisa told this newspaper, a neighbor who regularly walks the block of 42 and 172.

A similar picture was reported from Melchor Romero. They moved in a quagmire on the block of 529 and 163. “For years we have been asking for the improvement of the streets and the drains that, in reality, are ditches. What happened on Friday was very rough with the water everywhere and now we have mud left over for several days,” said one of the residents of the area.

Complaints spread to the downtown area. A resident of Barrio Norte called for improvements to the boulevard on Avenida 32, a space dedicated to physical activity and recreation. “In 32 between 9 and 10 there is a barrial every time it rains. I don’t know why they removed the cement walkway on that block,” said a street vendor from the area.

There is also a claim for municipal intervention to improve the drainage system in Gorina. “On 501 street from 131 to 135 there are land that are for sale for sale with no one living. Some time ago, where the ditch runs, they put cement pipes and the drainage of the area is complicated. The anger for the neighbors who have lived here for 50 years is that there is never a solution, but where there are private neighborhoods or expensive land is sold and without population, it is spent on laying pipes”, indicated a resident of the area.
