The director of the Egyptian film “The Atheist,” Mohamed Gamal El Adl, exploded in anger in a post on his Facebook page, after the screening of the film in Egypt was canceled, a few hours before it was shown tonight , on Wednesday it was decided to cancel the show forever, and the film and its makers are now facing the unknown task.

Al-Adl began his post in which he explained what had happened by apologizing to his friends whom he had invited to attend the special screening of the film on Wednesday night, and confirmed that the screening would not be held as the agreed date was expected, without knowing the reasons for that, explaining that the answer to that is available with the censor.

Al-Adl explained that the film is already ready to be shown, and all its stages have been completed, including editing, mixing, and color correction, it came down mainly to filming an additional scene. .

Al-Adl pointed out that the producer of the work spent a lot of money on advertising for the film, before it was uploaded, and this case caused a huge financial loss, and he believed that what happened was “the a most positive response to those who claimed that the filmmakers caused an impulse to create propaganda for the film.

The Egyptian director attached the post with a photo of the censorship license for the show, and photos of the script license. They put a sentence on the last page of the script saying, “The film will never distort the Islamic faith, but it will remove the veil from those who interpret Islam according to their whims.” The Egyptian leader concluded his post, “The idea will come sooner or later.”

The film stars Ahmed Hatem, Mahmoud Hamida, Sabreen, and Hussein Fahmy, and is written by Ibrahim Issa and directed by Mohamed Gamal El Adl.
