Employees of the studio Lemon Sky, which was developing Warcraft III: Reforged, held an AMA session at reddit. After some time, the topic was deleted, however, some media managed to publish information on their own.

The authors of the topic noted that they did not want to tell who exactly answered the fans’ questions. They felt that the community blamed Reforged for their failure, and wanted to explain what exactly they were responsible for. Despite the risk, they wanted to justify themselves to the fans of the game and answer their questions.

Lemon Sky employees said they made about 70% of the models from the game. At the same time, Blizzard tightly controlled everything. One of the artists left the Easter egg inside the butcher in the form of a male penis, but Blizzard noticed this and asked to be removed. At the same time, any task was also given out by customers, and Lemon Sky firmly followed the settings. The staff also asked about the possibility of making new cut scenes and videos, but Blizzard did not agree to this.

Redrawing the interface and icons was also done by the contractor. He was also responsible for unit animations within the game, as well as other visual design, such as landscape. At the same time, many Lemon Sky employees did not even play Warcraft III: Reforged at the development stage, and Blizzard simply ordered assets from them. Artists noted that they themselves were disappointed after the release.

When asked about a possible revision of the project, the artists noted that after the release of the game they completed their collaboration with Blizzard and in the near future will be engaged in other projects.

The release of Warcraft III: Reforged took place on January 29. Users criticized the game for outdated graphics and the lack of plot cut scenes that developers showed at BlizzCon 2018.
