After the price reduction, the demand for Tesla cars has increased

The electric car manufacturer Tesla has reduced the prices of its most popular models at the beginning of the year – first it happened in China, but then also in Europe and North America. It is reported that this move may have paid off, as customer interest in purchasing Tesla cars has significantly increased.

According to the car buying website Edmunds, Model Y was the second most searched model on the site. The week before, it was in 70th place. The prices of this model have been reduced by as much as 20 percent in some countries. Interest in the Model 3 has also grown significantly – it was the eleventh most searched car on the site, which is 36 places higher than the week before.

Edmunds analyst Jessica Caldwell points out that these price cuts will certainly allow Tesla to gain market share, while the lower prices will help customers not pay so much attention to the fact that these models will inevitably become obsolete. “Lower prices and immediate availability are definitely things that appeal to the American consumer,” says Caldwell.

This is the first time in Tesla’s short history that the automaker has faced a real drop in demand. Market analysts have previously stated that this was expected, but Tesla’s move to reduce prices has so far been successful – there are also reports from China that there is a large influx of customers at the manufacturer’s centers.
