Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
chairman Commission B DPRD DKI Jakarta Abdul Aziz resigned from his post. Aziz claims that he has long submitted his resignation to the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) internally.
Aziz said that the reason for resigning was because he wanted to focus on his master’s studies at the University of Indonesia.
“I submitted verbally through the party structure. It was two months ago, because I wanted to focus on my studies,” said Aziz when confirmed, Wednesday (23/12).
Aziz denied that his resignation was related to his reporting to the Honorary Board (BK) of the DKI DPRD. He stated that his resignation was purely because he wanted to focus on his studies.
“It has nothing to do, my resignation request was long before that,” he added.
According to him, undergoing studies and serving as Chairman of Commission B is quite difficult. Moreover, he also serves as the Secretary General of PKS DKI.
However, his resignation has not received approval from PKS. According to him, it is part of the party mechanism.
“There is a mechanism that must be passed, until now there has not been approval, “said Aziz.
Aziz was previously reported to the BK by a member of Commission B Ichwanul Muslimin. The report relates to allegations by the directors of PT TransJakarta and belly dancing.
During a Commission meeting with the Board of Directors of PT Transjakarta some time ago regarding an accident involving a Transjakarta bus, Aziz issued a recommendation without the knowledge of the other members.
Ichwanul also mentioned that Aziz had once called the directors of PT Transjakarta to a private room to question the existence of a belly dance video.
According to him, Aziz should have questioned the video at a commission meeting, not in a private room.
