While last season there was speculation in all transfer periods about two or three Slavia stars that they might leave, this year no names are being offered for the first time. The champions have had their weakest cup in recent years, but after failing to advance to the knockout stage of the European Conference League, they need to get their money back somewhere. But where will it go?
Last winter there was talk of Daniel Samko, Alexander Bah or Tomáš Holeš, this summer again Bah, and there was also talk of Yira Sora or Aiham Ousou. And deservedly, all the players had a significant impact on the way to the Conference League quarter-finals.
This year, however, the main red and white players have been plagued with health problems and none have significantly shot. From the trio of Lukáš Provod, Petr Ševčík, Holeš, someone was constantly injured, when Sor was playing it was not the same, Ousou fell in the average next to Kačaraba and none of the summer reinforcements had the impact that was expected when they have been purchased.
The biggest attraction for European buyers should be David Jurásek. Not only thanks to three assists in the group and two in qualifying, at 22 he was easily Slavia’s best player in the group. Reliable in defense, dangerous in attack, he takes corners well.
He has excellent parameters for being a left-back in European football, but Jindřich Trpišovský will definitely not let him go. The unwritten rule in Slavia is “if the offer of a life does not come, we will sell you first a year and a half after arriving in Slavia”.
Jurásek has been in the club for a year, but that in itself is not that important. He is a young player and it is with them that Slavia wants to work for a long time.
Peter Olayink’s contract expires in the summer, and if they have no plans to extend it, it would be reasonable for Slavia to let him go in the winter and earn at least some money. At least two million euros could end up in the club’s coffers.
Embroiderers can no longer afford other sources of income. Ousou has certainly built a name for himself in a year and a half, but Slavia will not sell the stopper due to the defensive situation.
Oscar Dorley although he was also one of the best players in Slavia, he is a quiet person who takes a long time to adapt to a new environment. Moreover, working with Jindřich Trpišovský suits him, so he has no reason to leave.
Therefore Slavia cannot really earn through any player the amount of money they have raised in the past for Tomáš Souček, Vladimír Coufal or Baha. But they must at least narrow the squad, otherwise the fight for a place in training will really be a matter of life and death.
