After the house, Tesla attacks entire neighborhoods

If when people talk to you about Tesla, you think about cars, that’s normal. However, Elon Musk’s company wants to vary its activities and is also involved in the storage and production of renewable energy. Last year, he signed a deal with Brookfield Asset Management and Dacra to install solar panels and Powerwall on the rooftops of an entire Austin, Texas neighborhood. If we have had little information on this subject in recent months, there seems to be something new.

A whole neighborhood powered by Tesla?

Last year, Tesla embarked on a huge new project: powering an entire 12,000-home neighborhood in Austin called Easton Park. Thanks to the agreement with two real estate giants, Elon Musk’s company has a great opportunity to enter this new market thanks to its solar energy storage and production activity. This would result in a kind of all-inclusive package for new homes with Tesla Solar Roof and Powerwall included.

If Tesla slowed its rooftop solar installations over the course of the year due to some delay, it would appear that this is history by now. For this new quarter, the company is focusing on new homes, such as those in Easton Park.

Today, real estate expert Brookfield Asset Management unveils many new homes with the “Tesla Solar Package” mention. Those interested will thus be able to take advantage of a house that is “fully equipped” in a certain sense.

In Austin, some Tesla-powered homes have already sprung up, such as Mario D. Interviewed by Electrek, this Easton Park resident explains his choice very simply: he did the cost-benefit analysis. Choosing a “Tesla roof” at the time of installation is much more interesting than adding it later. But that is not all. Since this arrangement provides him with more electricity than he needs, Mario can sell the rest to the grid. “I can generate long-term passive income by using the energy saving habits I already have”.

New course, therefore, for Tesla. Whether this huge neighborhood in the heart of Texas will be unanimous remains to be seen. If so, then Elon Musk’s company may want to conquer new cities.
