After the G20 summit, where are electric vehicles being used?

According to Secretary of the Ministry of State Secretariat Setia Utama, electric vehicle the former G20 Bali summit will be returned to each manufacturer. This is because all used EVs are on loan from each manufacturer.

“Since we borrow it, we will return it to them. Maybe it will be sold or auctioned, it depends on them, but one thing is clear, they lent it to us,” Setia said, quoted by the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel, on Thursday 17 November 2022.

Setia further disclosed that there were around 844 units of electric cars used to transport VVIP guests, delegates and also for the committee. Meanwhile, for the escort and security police vehicles, there are about 1,500 units.

“The rest are still fossil cars, automobiles combustion engine. Selecting electric cars is a priority for brands that already have factories in Indonesia,” she added.

He said the use of electric vehicles is in line with one of the themes of the G20 summit. Furthermore, the renewal of electric vehicles during the G20 summit was also seen as Indonesia’s commitment to transition from fossil energy to renewable energy.
