The Association of Bulgarian Insurers publishes detailed information on under what conditions and which damages can be covered after the devastating floods along the Southern Black Sea coast.
It turns out that people with insurance should notify their insurer as soon as possible of what property damage they have suffered.
Victims do not have to provide documents that the flood occurred in that part of the country.
The Association reports that they have called on all insurers to extend the terms in which they accept the notifications of people with the described damages, so that all the injured who have insurances will receive their compensation.

In connection with numerous inquiries regarding the receipt of insurance benefits for material damage as a result of the flooding along the southern Black Sea coast, ABZ informs you of the following:
· The victims of the natural disaster in the region of the southern Black Sea coast and Strandzha from 09/05/2023. they can contact their insurer at the earliest opportunity and submit a claim notice;
· When making a claim, it is not necessary to submit documents certifying that such a flood occurred in that area and on that date;
· If the damaged property is a motor vehicle, caravan or other type of trailer, its registration plates must not be removed;
· After making contact with the insurer, strictly follow his instructions;
· On the part of ABZ, an appeal is made to the insurers to extend the period for filing claims in connection with this event as much as is necessary, so that all victims can be safely received and served.
The recommendations of ABZ, the actions taken and the need to provide timely information were discussed at a meeting between representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and the Association of Bulgarian Insurers (ABZ).
