The Citroën C5 Aircross showed up with a modernized design about two months ago. Now comes his Czech price list and with it the opportunity to order a car. The cheapest way to buy this SUV is 610 thousand crowns, if you only need an internal combustion engine, or 920 thousand crowns if you want a plug-in hybrid. However, unlike its sister Peugeot 3008, it is only available with front-wheel drive.

On the other hand, what the Citroën has are shock absorbers with progressive hydraulic stops. These are de facto three shock absorbers in one – at both ends of the stroke of the standard shock absorber, which can be softer, there are hydraulic stops with progressive rigidity, which are essentially additional shock absorbers and eliminate impacts to real rubber stops.

In addition to the aforementioned plug-in hybrid, which combines a 16-liter petrol engine with an electric motor and an eight-speed automatic transmission for a total output of 165 kW / 225 hp, the C5 Aircross is also available with a 1.2 PureTech three-cylinder petrol engine and a 1.5 BlueHDi diesel four-cylinder.

Both engines produce 96 kW / 131 hp and both can be equipped with any equipment except the basic Live Pack with a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission, which is a true planetary automatic with a hydrodynamic torque converter from Aisin, not a dual clutch or robotic manual.

In addition to those shock absorbers with progressive hydraulic stops, the basic equipment of the Live Pack also includes an army of driving assistants and guards, including cruise control with speed limiter, recognition of speed limiting traffic signs or active lane assistance.

There are also LED lights, automatic wipers with integrated washers, radio with DAB reception, the possibility of connecting Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, manual air conditioning, head airbags for front and rear seats, 17 ″ alloy wheels or three separate and folding seats in the second row.

Feel equipment adds a digital instrument panel with the possibility of personalization, an inch larger wheels or automatic dual-zone air conditioning. A step higher, the Feel Pack has keyless access, electrically folding mirrors, front fog lights or a reversing camera.

The C-Series is identical to the Feel Pack, only some extra packages are cheaper and the navigation system from TomTom is included. It also has a Shine version, acoustic windows in the front and a Drive Assist package, which means adaptive cruise control and better driving assistants. The top-of-the-line Shine Pack adds heated front seats, semi-leather upholstery, an electric driver’s seat or an unspecified highway assistant.
