After the end of 168 hours, Nora Fridrichová spoke again from Croatia: Words about criminals, the irony of fate and questions from daughters

Just shortly before leaving for vacation, Nora Fridrichová (46) learned that the program 168 Hours was ending. The presenter was shocked and did not expect that Czech Television wanted to cut the news program. After a few days by the sea, she cleared her thoughts and decided to comment on everything.

When she found out about the end of the show, she was just packing for a vacation that she had planned for a long time. However, after a few days at the sea, all kinds of information began to reach her, and her daughters also came with questions about her future. “Yesterday, my daughters asked me what was going to happen. I found out that I no longer have my current job and that even my team does not know what they will be doing from next month, right before I left for vacation with the children. I absolutely didn’t expect it and it wasn’t the most pleasant departure,” confided the presenter from the sea, where there is largely no signal.

“Snippets of accusations began to arrive here, that we are actually criminals in 168 hours and that our work suddenly does not belong on public television at all. Do you know what we actually had to break the law with? For example, with the sentence that the mafia once came to power in Slovakia with Robert Fic. They say that I expressed myself in a “vague way” and thus against the law,” Nora elaborated in her statement.

Fridrichová stated the criticism that came her way. However, it was not possible without her response. She tries to enjoy the stay with her friends and children on the boat despite the unpleasant professional situation in her life.

“When I hurriedly called my colleagues to tell them what had happened, it was frustrating for me that I had nothing to offer them. But I told my little daughters that nothing is wrong, that this just happens to journalists sometimes. It is actually a picturesque irony of fate. We broadcast so often about fellow journalists in Slovakia that we ended up like this ourselves,” Fridrichová added.
