After the documentary, Vikas Khanna writes a children’s book about Karthyayani Amma

PraCelebrity chef Vikas Khanna has brought the life of Kartyaya Niamma who became the pride of Malayali after beating Yum and Exam to children. A comic titled “Barefoot Empress” was released.

Vikas’ previous documentary on Karthiyaniamma had attracted a lot of attention. Krishan Chopra, editor-in-chief of Bloomsbury, which published the book, said the story could inspire a new generation.

A native of Haripad in Alappuzha, Karthiyaniamma did not have the opportunity to study as a child. After years of waiting, at 96, he gets 96 out of 100 and passes the 4th grade.

Kartyaniamma was the oldest person out of 43,330 who took the Akshar Laksha exam that day. On Women’s Day 2020, then President Ram Nath Kovind honored her with the Narishakti Award.
