After the derby, the argument between Männel and Kutschke escalates

Oh – Emotions are part of a derby like Ore Mountains Aue against Dynamo Dresden Sometimes they boil over, as between the two captains Martin Männel (36) and Stefan Kutschke (35).

The reason was the Dynamo captain’s yellow-red card after 84 minutes when the score was 2-0 for Aue. The second warning was undisputed, but the first angered the SGD. Even if the 35-year-old is right when looking at the pictures, he should not have gone off the rails verbally like that.

What happened? After a high cross, the ball flew out of the goal. Männel (69th) kicked Kutschke – a clear assault. Kutschke gave him a piece of his mind. He was shown a yellow card for this, while the keeper’s justified red card remained in the pocket of referee Lukas Benen (31st).

Six minutes before the end, Männel wanted to throw the ball, Kutschke stood in his way, the keeper threw the ball against his shoulder and fell – yellow-red.

The Dresden player simply has to stay away, even though Aue’s goalkeeper theatrically went towards the ground.

“At this level, I expect that an act of violence will be seen, then Stefan will not receive the first card. He will have to take the second one on himself. In total, we have to finish the game with eleven players. The opponent had one player less, so maybe something could have been done. That really annoyed me,” said Dynamo coach Thomas Stamm (41) at the press conference.

Kutschke himself was also upset, because he was not yet back to normal temperature after the final whistle and the sealed defeat.

Aue’s coach Pavel Dotchev (58) went to him and told him “that I am sorry about the sending off”. He did not want to say more because the words were spoken out of emotion. But the conversation took place in the mixed zone in front of everyone. And that’s where Kutschke’s tone was inappropriate.

“I don’t wish this person any good. He will get his punishment,” he said. The last words in foul language are not fit for print and will therefore remain so.

Dotchev complained that the focus is now on the scene and not on the game. “We saw such a great game and now we are putting it in the foreground. We talk about the referees every week, including in the cup. That’s a shame.”
