The Wereldgeluk restaurant in Groningen has been declared bankrupt. The restaurant has been closed since May after the owner and her partner were found dead in their home in Nieuwediep in early May.
Later investigation showed that the manager was killed by her husband, who later died himself. The police said that a third person was not involved in the murder. The bankruptcy of the restaurant was “inevitable”, according to the curator Jitze van der Meer. writes RTV Noord.
“We are currently investigating whether the restaurant can be restarted,” says Van der Meer, who says he is open to dialogue with interested parties. The breach is not yet a done deal, as the period in which an appeal can be lodged is still running. “But I consider that the chance that an appeal against the infringement will not be successful will not be very high,” says Van der Meer.
