The Ministry of Health and Population announced that Tabarak Hospital will be closed in the Fifth Settlement in New Cairo, until investigations into the death of a 5-year-old boy are completed.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained immediately after seeing a complaint stating the death of a 5-year-old child as a result of suspected negligence on the part of the doctor who examined the child and incorrect medical knowledge. handling the case, led Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, immediately by establishing a committee from the main administration of non-governmental therapeutic centers, licensing, and free treatment in Cairo, in collaboration with the Egyptian Medical Authority, to visit the hospital and review the treatment method and the child’s treatment plan.
Dr. Hisham Zaki, Head of the Central Administration for Non-Governmental Treatment Institutions and Licensing, pointed out that the initial investigations of the established committee revealed that the child’s case was not treated according to the correct medical protocol followed by these representatives from The Medicines Authority of Egypt also took samples of the same medicines taken including the child for analysis and verification, confirming that an immediate decision will be sent to – to close the aforementioned hospital until the inspections are completed to the Ministry of Health hospitals to ensure health and safety.
In a statement today, Zaki indicated that the Ministry is willing to tighten control over private medical facilities, to ensure that they meet health requirements, that the facilities and staff receive the necessary permits, without apply infection control standards, and review pharmaceutical licenses, ensuring that all legal measures are taken against violations that occur.
