After the danger: Trains at the Salzburg railway station are running again

On Monday the main and eastern railway stations in Graz were evacuated, on Tuesday it was the turn of Linz and now train traffic had to be stopped in Salzburg. As in previous days, an anonymous bomb threat was received here as well. As the ÖBB announced at 6:30 pm, the official closure has been lifted and the trains are running again.

“There is currently no train traffic at the Salzburg Hbf station. The reason for this is an official closure”the ÖBB announced late Wednesday afternoon.

By 6:30pm in the evening, the trains were able to run again and the official closures were lifted. However, there could still be a delay, the ÖBB announced via X (formerly Twitter).

Same as Monday and Tuesday in Grace or Linz A bomb threat may have been received in Mozart’s town as well. The police searched the train station, which was evacuated beforehand.

For tactical reasons, police have not released details of the threat received at this time.

The executive had to do that this week also in the capitals of Upper Austria and Styria. No suspicious material was found there after the threats.

The routes between Salzburg Hbf and Breitenschützing, Salzburg Hbf and Zell am See, Salzburg Hbf and Munich, Salzburg Hbf and Bad Gastein as well as Bischofshofen and Liezen were affected.
