The Golden Globes ceremony will return to television next year after a year of absence. American channel NBC will broadcast the award show live on January 10, 2023.
NBC announced last year that it would not air the film and television awards due to criticism of diversity within the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), the organization of the Golden Globes. Determine who will win the prestigious awards each year.

The HFPA has long been criticized because there were no blacks among its nearly ninety members. According to the organization, 52% of the members are now women and 51.5% contribute to diversity in the “racial and ethnic” area.

NBC has now agreed to air at least next year’s award. “We see HFPA’s commitment to change and look forward to welcoming the 80th Golden Globes in January 2023,” an NBC president told US media.

The presentation of the 79th Golden Globe could not be followed on television or in live streaming this year. The winners were announced in a meeting with no audience.
