As a result of blood tests conducted on students diagnosed with obesity, blood sugar levels, cholesterol levels, and liver level indices also increased and the chronic disease risk index worsened.

Among students diagnosed with obesity in 2021, 26.9 percent of high school students, 40.3 percent of middle school students, and 30.4 percent of high school students had high blood sugar. After Corona, the high blood sugar rate among all obese students was 32.6%, an increase of 11.4 percentage points from 2019.

Among all obese students, the percentage of students with increased liver levels also increased by 5.2 percentage points to 18.7%. Elevated liver levels are expected to be associated with fatty liver disease due to obesity.
