After the additions – four players are sent home from Chelsea’s training camp

Chelsea have made two prestigious acquisitions so far during this summer’s transfer window, in the form of Raheem Sterling from Manchester City and Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli. The duo has now joined the team, which is on a pre-season tour in the USA.

However, the addition meant that the squad, according to the sports management, became too large. Therefore, four players have now been sent home to England. That leaves Tino Anjorin, Billy Gilmour, Harvey Vale and Armando Broja. The latter will be due to an ankle injury, while the other three will complete the pre-season elsewhere.

– It is never easy and I did not like it at all because everyone deserves to stay in the squad. I would have liked to have kept everyone because Tino, Harvey and Billy have trained at a very high level and it would also be nice to see them in a few matches, but in the end we have to make a decision to maintain the quality of training, so we decided to have a maximum of 24 players, says coach Thomas Tuchel on the club’s website.

West Ham have previously stated their interest in Broja. For Anjorin, there will be interest from Coventry City while Gilmour is expected to be loaned out.
