[이데일리 스타in 김현식 기자] After Taeyang, Daesung also leaves YG Entertainment (YG).
On the 26th, a YG representative told E-Daily, “Daesung has decided to terminate his contract with us.” He added: “It remains unchanged that Daesung is a member of the Big Bang. Regarding the future of another member, G-Dragon, he stuck to the position that “the situation is under contract negotiations.”
Earlier the same day, YG released a statement saying, “Taeyang will be working as an artist under The Black Label, a YG affiliated company.” The Black Label started as a label under YG in 2016. Even now, YG owns about 30% of the shares. 1TIME’s Teddy, who has written hit songs for singers under YG, such as Big Bang, 2NE1 and Blackpink, is the boss.
After Taeyang’s departure to The Black Label became known, fans’ attention was also focused on the future moves of G-Dragon and Daesung, other members of his group Big Bang. Among the members, TOP had already left YG in February.
On the same day, YG announced that they were “discussing the contract and future activities” regarding the future activities of G-Dragon and Daesung, but less than a day later, they announced again that the contract with Daesung had been broken.
YG is pointing out that even though their contracts with Top, Taeyang and Daesung have ended, they are still members of Big Bang.
