After six days stranded, the giant ship that totally blocked the Suez Canal floated again at dawn on Monday (29), raising expectations that the waterway will reopen soon.
The 400-meter-long vessel was stuck diagonally in the channel during high winds on Tuesday morning (23), interrupting ship traffic on the shortest route between Europe and Asia.
At least 369 vessels are waiting to transit the channel, including dozens of bulk carriers, oil tankers and ships of liquefied natural gas (LNG) or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
Oil prices have already dropped after news that the ship has floated again.
