After sexual harassment
Weinstein took Paltrow’s pleasure in acting
–
As one of many Hollywood stars, Gwyneth Paltrow accuses Harvey Weinstein of sexual harassment. Her bad experiences with the former film mogul were also the reason why she can no longer gain much from acting, she now reveals.
Gwyneth Paltrow knew at the age of 26 that she didn’t want to be an actress forever, as she now revealed in an interview with “SiriusXM’s Quarantined”. After receiving the Oscar for her performance in “Shakespeare in Love”, she realized that she “did not love acting that much”.
Her bad experiences with Harvey Weinstein, who was President of Miramax at the time, probably played a role in these considerations. “Add to that the fact that, to be completely frank, I had a really tough boss at Miramax for most of my film career …” Paltrow, like many other actresses, accuses the film mogul of having sexually harassed her.
Very few film projects left
The “intense public scrutiny” that went with her fame also took the magic out of her acting job. She was a child that went through every breakup headline and was criticized for everything she said or wore. The constant being on the move has also annoyed her. She would rather be with old friends or her children than “six weeks alone in a hotel room in Budapest. That’s just not who I am.”
All of these things would have led her to question herself: “I don’t know if this is really my calling.” Even if the entrepreneur and actress has never completely withdrawn from acting, Hollywood has long been Paltrow’s top priority, but her lifestyle platform “Goop”. Occasionally she also takes on film jobs, most recently for “Avengers” or the Netflix series “The Politician”.
