After setback due to bacterial infection: Rod Stewart has Corona: Musician has to postpone even more concerts
Rod Stewart still has to avoid the stage. After he had to cancel his concert in Las Vegas due to streptococci, Corona is now the reason for his absence.
Rod Stewart (79) was once again unpleasantly surprised. The musician had just been forced to cancel an important performance in Las Vegas when he had to postpone concerts again – this time for various health reasons. According to the rock musician’s official Instagram page, he has been infected with Corona and has therefore had to postpone two shows.
Both the concert in Nevada and the subsequent one in California have been postponed – not canceled – as a result. They are expected to be rescheduled for August 18 and 20, respectively. Concertgoers are advised to keep their tickets as they are still valid.
Vegas show number 200 was also canceled
Earlier in the week, Stewart had to cancel a particularly important date at short notice. He began performing in Las Vegas in 2011 with “Rod Stewart: The Hits.” On August 7, he wanted to celebrate the end of his Las Vegas concerts after about 13 years with his 200th appearance in the series in the famous Colosseum at Caesars Palace. But that didn’t work out.
Corona was not mentioned as a reason for the cancellation at this time. In the corresponding post, Stewart explained that he was suffering from streptococcal pharyngitis, a bacterial throat infection.
Stewart’s performances in Vegas are not over yet. Although it was supposed to be the last show, shortly before his cancellation, the 79-year-old was able to announce that the show would continue next year. “Vegas, I’m having too much fun to end this so we’re coming back for an encore,” he shared on Instagram.
