The man was charged in Hordaland District Court with aggravated rape of a girl, rape of two and sexual acts against five others, it writes Bergens Tidende (BT).

The man has now been sentenced to eight years in prison.

– He is terribly disappointed with the verdict. He has maintained his innocence and wants to appeal the issue of guilt and conviction, the man’s defender Erik Johan Mjelde told VG.

BT reports that the abuses, according to the indictment, took place in two schools in the 2020-2021 school year.

Bad case for all involved

– He was convicted, among other things, of stroking a child on the back and thigh. He has fully acknowledged some of the actions, but does not acknowledge that they are of sexual intent or deliberate events.

Mjelde tells VG. The defense attorney goes on to say that his client is having a very difficult time.

– Obviously he’s having a very difficult time. He was convicted under a very serious indictment and very serious penalty clauses, says Mjelde.

– This is a difficult and heated case and it’s a bad case for everyone involved.
