After removing masks, Covid-19 spikes again in Australia

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The surge in Covid-19 cases seems to be indiscriminate in attacking a number of countries in the world. It’s not only Indonesia that has recently had to work hard to fight the daily spike in Covid-19 cases, it turns out that the country of kangaroos has suffered the same fate.

This came to the fore, after the Australian state of New South Wales recorded its biggest daily rise in Covid-19 infections this year. In fact, just last July 3, Australia officially released the fast lockdown, which was implemented earlier.

As a result, Sydney, the capital city of the state of New South Wales, has been hardest hit in a series of outbreaks of the Delta variant, which spreads much faster than the usual coronavirus.

According to data published by the Prime Minister of the State, Gladys Berejiklian, reported that as many as 35 new cases were found, 29 of which were still related to previous cases.

“That surpassed the 31 cases reported the day before, bringing the total infections under the current outbreak to more than 250.”

“While the number of cases is increasing, we are seeing a larger proportion of those isolated that we would like to see.” Gladys Berejiklian, Prime Minister of the State of Australia.

However, with this spike in Covid-19 cases, Gladys has also not given any policy regarding the decision whether to extend the lockdown or not.

Previously, Australia and New Zealand had relaxed the obligation to wear masks. Australians are not required to wear masks when carrying out their activities. However, when traveling by public transportation and while in hospital, the public is asked to continue to wear masks.
