Today, August 2, 2024, the adult director’s cut of ‘Rebel Moon’ is released, and as a faithful follower of Zack Snyder I will swallow hard, light a candle and face the double session with a minimum halo of hope after having skipped ‘The Warrior Who Leaves Marks’ because of the slump that ‘The Girl on Fire’ caused me. But If the Snyder Cut also fails, there is some light at the end of the tunnel.
Zack, the intimate
Good old Zack already has his next feature film project in mind, and something tells me it will be a very pleasant surprise that may change the public’s perception of him and his work. The reason? Their intention is to considerably reduce the scale and the overloaded spectacle. to which we are accustomed and to become intimate.
This was explained during the last episode of the podcast Reel Blend:
“Right now I’m trying to make a little movie. I’m not going to say what it is, but I was like, ‘Can I make a movie with no visual effects in it for like five minutes? ‘ And then I’ll go back to the crazy stuff. I should be writing this little movie, and that’s kind of what I want to do.”
It is, at the very least, curious that to see Snyder’s smaller-scale film we have to go back to his fantastic debut ‘Dawn of the Dead’. If the results of are even remotely close to those obtained in 2004, Welcome to this “new” facet of Wisconsin and the wait until its release, about which, of course, no information has been released.
