Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Noice, an audio content application owned by PT Mahaka Radio Integra Tbk (MARI), has just been injected with funds of US$ 22 million equivalent to Rp 315.75 billion from large investor Northstar Pacific. Northstar Pacific became the new investor, in addition to Alpha JWC, Go-Ventures, and Kinesys, which had already become Noice’s investors.
Rado Ardian, CEO of Noice said he will use the funds to grow the content of our audio community, advancing the technology in the app.
“We are working on developing audio content and presenting the best stories from Indonesia. We are working with the community, writers, storytellers, and many more to adapt it to audio format. We have tested this new format and found very promising interaction and retention results. ,” said Rado at E27, quoted Thursday (21/4/2022).
The funding round from Northstar came shortly after Raffi Ahmad’s Rans Entertainment also invested in Noice. Rans Entertainment injected Rp 36 billion in funds. MARI’s Finance Director, Natalina Sindhikara, in the disclosure of information on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) also confirmed this. “Yes, that’s right, PT Rans Entertainment Indonesia owns Noice indirectly,” Natalina said.
RANS Entertainment is recorded to have made a capital deposit of US$ 2.5 million or around Rp. 35.75 billion to Noice. Although RANS has become a shareholder, MARI remains the controlling shareholder with a share ownership of 45.08%.
“The additional paid-in capital from RANS Entertainment will be used for the development of NOICE’s business in terms of content and technology,” he said.
Because, he said, currently, Noice is still in the business development stage, for that at this time the company’s concentration is to improve the operational indicators of NOICE application users.
