After promising weeks, the number of infected people in the world is starting to grow threateningly again

In the United Kingdom, where they have once postponed the last phase of the dismantling, the numbers have been rising for more than a month, and in the last week the curve of new cases is once again strikingly reminiscent of the exponential.

While on June 22, the British counted 149.51 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, on June 28 it was already 241.65.

According to experts, the cause must be sought in two factors. First, in the community spread of the so-called delta variant, a mutation of the new coronavirus, which was first reported in India. And secondly, the still insufficient vaccination coverage of the population.

Although the vaccines used are effective against the more aggressive delta, it is spread mainly among the young unvaccinated part of the population.

The conclusions from Britain are also confirmed by the development in Spain. There is also a worrying increase in the cumulative number of new cases. “We are seeing an increase in transmission among people who are not vaccinated,” said chief government epidemiologist Fernando Simón.

Cluster in Mallorca

The example speaks for itself; The island of Mallorca became the target of a school trip, among whose members the disease spread. On Monday, 1,200 infected people appeared on the island and another 5,000 people were quarantined. This means that one in four people contacted by hygienists in connection with the outbreak became infected.

About half of those infected come from Madrid. Due to this cluster, the regional government has decided to tighten the conditions of entry into the Balearic Islands for an organized group of more than 20 people.

These must be proven either by a test, a certificate of vaccination or a covid in the last six months.

The unfavorable trend is not limited to Europe. Israel, the world’s premier in the vaccination campaign, pays off that not all of its people believe in the vaccine and have been vaccinated.

On Monday, they recorded 225 new cases, while the previous day only 145. On Sunday, the average daily growth for the previous seven days was 156 cases. Previously, Israel counted the newly infected to only dozens. While ten days ago there were 230 active cases, now there are 1425. The Jewish state also attributes the deterioration of the situation to the rapidly spreading delta variant.

And it doesn’t look good in Russia either. It recorded the new highest number of deaths in one day related to covid-19 on Monday; 652 people died. The operative staff informed about it, which records epidemic statistics in the country and informs about them every day. According to him, the total number of deaths in the country rose to 134,545 people.
