After passing the medical examinations, Isco’s transfer to Union Berlin failed

German club Union Berlin halted its efforts to sign Spanish midfielder Isco, former Real Madrid star, on Tuesday, the last day of the winter transfer window.

“We would have loved to have Isco with us, but we have limits, and these limits were crossed today, contrary to the previous agreement, and therefore this deal is not possible,” Oliver Rohnert, sporting director of Union Berlin, said on Tuesday.

Isco was already in Berlin and it was reported that he passed the medical examinations, but according to Kicker Sports magazine, the two parties did not reach an agreement on the final details of the contract.

Members of Isco’s management team told Bild today: “During the talks, we realized that our negotiating partner was no longer willing to move within the framework that was originally discussed.”
